Dr Claire Griffiths joined UCA Farnham as subject Leader and Lecturer in Creative Writing in 2017
Claire spent five years as an Associate Tutor on the undergraduate creative writing programme at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, teaching on a variety of creative writing and literature modules. She also convened and ran the Creative Writing programme for the University of Westminster’s International Summer School from 2013-2015.
After graduating with a First for her BA Hons degree in American Literature with Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia in 2007, Claire was selected for the institution’s renowned Creative Writing: Prose MA programme, for which she received a Distinction. This was followed by a scholarship-funded PhD in Creative and Critical Writing, completed in early 2015.As a writer of literary fiction, Claire has had short stories published in several major print and online publications, and has been shortlisted for and won awards including the Bristol Short Story Prize. Her work has also been broadcast on BBC Radio 4. She is currently completing the final draft of her debut novel, The Lagermuseum, which focuses on prisoner-artists held in the Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II.
