Professor of Design Anne Massey joins UCA as a Professorial Fellow.

She will be using her expertise to help academics and students with their own research, as well as conducting her own research in her specialism.

Anne, who studied at the University of Northumbria, gaining a BA (Hons) History of Modern Art and Design degree and a PhD, also has a Diploma in Literature and Creative Writing together with an MBA, both from Open University.

Anne is a leading expert on the interior – particularly the Hollywood influence and ocean liners - as well as the Independent Group, a group of creatives who met at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) from 1952 to 1955.

As well as seven books, she’s also written extensively for numerous art and design journals and magazines, as well as appearing on both BBC 4 and Channel 4. She’s also the founding editor of academic journal Interiors: Design, Architecture, Culture.
