Gary Clough

Head of International Pathway, UCA Farnham


Gary Clough is Head of International Pathway courses, which includes the International Foundation in Art, Design & Media, Graduate Diploma in Art & Design and Pre-Sessional English Language for Art & Design (EAP) courses.

His role includes the responsibility for academic development, management and course delivery. A key part of his role is to work with international stakeholders and partners to develop staff and student inward and outward mobility in line with the University's internationalisation strategies and objectives. 

Gary has over twenty years experience of delivering and developing curriculum in art & design, in both Higher and Further Education. This has included working with an extensive range of partners and stakeholders both nationally and internationally, in particular working with a range of Colleges and Universities in China, developing pedagogic partnerships and projects focusing on student recruitment and mobility.

Recently this has included managing and facilitating a staff and student exchange, with the Arts International Programme (AIP) from The Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) Beijing, to study alongside University for the Creative Arts (UCA) Foundation students at the Rochester campus, culminating in a final exhibition and leading to an ongoing student and staff exchange teaching and learning project.

Gary is also a practising fine artist, with an interdisciplinary approach spanning drawing, sculpture, animation and site specific installation and he continues to exhibit work nationally and internationally. His work can be viewed at:
