Annamarie is the university Head of Learning, Teaching & Student Engagement based in the department of Research & Education. She is also the Programme Leader for the Creative Education Professional Development Framework, the university’s new HEA-accredited scheme providing taught and experiential CPD for teaching staff at UCA.
Annamarie has a professional background in librarianship with other twenty years’ experience in public and academic libraries. She has a keen interest in academic leadership, mentoring and reflective practice as enabling tools for collegial self-improvement. She is the university lead for Teaching Observation (university framework for reflective practice) and has recently written a chapter entitled ‘Making sense of practice through Peer-supported review’ for a forthcoming SEDA Special on Reflective Teaching. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has been in various senior learning, teaching and research roles at UCA since 2003.
Annamarie is currently in the fifth year of a Professional Doctorate in Education (EdD) at the University of Roehampton. The tile of her research is ‘How do creative arts lecturers in higher education talk about reflection in their teaching: an exploration of the talk of creative arts lecturers’. The research aims to explore the socially situated, culturally imbued understandings and engagement with reflection in creative arts teacher settings.
