Farnham Grad Show — in pictures

On 7th June, we opened the 2017 Farnham Graduation Show with a private view. Our shows are one of the biggest events of the year in the UCA calendar, celebrating the achievements of our graduating students and showcasing some of the best work produced that year.

UCA’s class of 2017 welcomed their family, friends and industry contacts into the exhibition spaces around the campus.

Take a look at some of the highlights from the show — and a few students we managed to catch up with who were there on the night.

Interactive — some of the work allowed visitors to join in, such as this BA (Hons) Advertising student’s project, an advert for Sharpie pens.
This year in the James Hockey Gallery we featured BA (Hons) Computer Games Arts, where visitors tried the games for themselves on computers, tablets and screens. The exhibition also celebrated the launch of two new games available now in app stores: Cat Tap and Coin Quest.

“I loved that we were able to focus on what we were interested in, so everyone’s project turned out completely differently. I like to dive right into a research project and being able to do that alongside doing the surface design enabled me to understand more about the topic I was looking at.”

“My project is about how we’re affecting the environment — using humans rather than animals. I thought this image was the most dramatic, and it needed to be printed on a big scale, I wanted it like a poster — like billboards or buses in London — to try and get people’s attention.”

“The technical staff are absolutely brilliant. If you have a question, they’ve got the answer and they’ll work with you to get what you want from the material, which is brilliant. The support that was available to make what I’ve achieved — it was absolutely amazing. I couldn’t have done it without them.”
