All managers, whether academic or professional support have health, safety and wellbeing responsibilities at UCA. Key documents and resources for managers are provided here.
The University has a Health & Safety Policy which sets out its statement of intent, organisation and arrangements for health and safety, as well as the responsibilities of staff, students and contractors.
UCA also has a dedicated Health & Wellbeing Policy which provides information and initiatives which support and promote the health and wellbeing of employees at work.
These policies are reviewed and updated by the University Health, Safety & Wellbeing Committee which is chaired by the Vice-Chancellor and meets three times per year.
If you are a manager, you should be aware of your responsibilities outlined in the Health & Safety Policy and the Health & Wellbeing Policy and you should also ensure that you discuss these policies regularly with your team.

Are you a manager with a new member of staff?
As part of the induction process, you should complete a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Induction for all new members of your team. You should take them through the Health & Safety and Health & Wellbeing Policies and ensure they complete the online Health and Safety Induction which can be accessed via myUCA.
