“Clothes are my moods and my emotions; they represent more than just a seasonal trend.” Ramlah Wraich
University for the Creative Arts is proud to present A Trip into the Ludic by recent graduate, Ramlah Wraich. The exhibition brings together Wraich’s acclaimed and innovative fashion collection, which derives its inspiration from a wide range of cultural sources, from furniture design and the sacco to the contemporary art of Marta Minujin and Ernesto Neto. Alluring and playful, Wraich’s brightly coloured striped outfits, form the basis of a ‘beanbag’ inspired collection, which are a fusion of fashion, accessorization and multi-functionality and suggest that clothes are not only to be worn but can also possess a more spatial and emotional dimension.
Ramlah Wraich was born, Germany in 1990. She graduated in BA (Hons) Fashion from University for the Creative Arts, Epsom in 2016 and is currently studying an MA in Womenswear Fashion Accessory at the Royal College of Art, London. At Graduate Fashion Week (GFW) 2016, Wraich was one of only twenty-six finalists selected from 500 students, and she was also included in GFW’s subsequent Gala Show. She will be exhibiting her Beanbag Collection at The Clothes Show, NEC, Birmingham, 2-6 December 2016.
