Sally Gayford

Sally coordinates the provision of academic English preparation and support across all three campuses at UCA. This includes overseeing the course administration, materials development, and assessment tools on the Pre-Sessional English courses, in collaboration with the Pre-Sessional English Lead. She also manages the ongoing English language support offered by the In-Sessional English team, as well as holding overall responsibility for the UCA English Test.

Sally Gayford

Bio

Sally has been involved in teaching English as a foreign language since 1996, working in Thailand, Italy, the UK, India, and Turkey. She moved into academic management at the British Council in 2003, and in 2006 became one of the founding partners of a new language school in Istanbul where she also worked as the Academic Director for the next eight years.

In 2014 she joined the English Language Preparatory Programme team for a new start-up university in Istanbul, and was involved in designing the programme, assessment procedures and tasks, and administrative systems, and later as Director of the programme, leading and developing the team and the courses.

Sally is particularly interested in team-building, flipped learning, developing learner autonomy, and supporting students and instructors in EMI environments.
