Minyan Hiam is the Associate Lecturer for the Pre-doctorate Research Degree Preparation programme at the UCA International College. Minyan guides and mentors aspiring scholars for their pre-doctoral studies.

Bio

Minyan Hiam has a diverse professional background and brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge in entrepreneurship to her academic pursuits. She holds an MSc in Tourism, Development and Policy, along with a BSc in Business and Tourism Management. Her doctoral research interests revolve around the intersection of Transnationalism and International Communication theories and practices, particularly within the context of global partnerships in higher arts education.

Drawing upon her extensive experience in international recruitment and engagement, Minyan has developed a deep understanding and practical application of forming collaborative frameworks and processes. She is a passionate advocate for meaningful collaborations between institutions and a keen facilitator for international school-university progression and university-university articulation of partnership models and pathways.

Research statement

Minyan’s doctoral studies in education (Ed.D) centre on sustainable partnerships of higher arts education, employing qualitative methods that are informed by a relativist ontology and a constructivist epistemology. Her research explores the complexities of higher education internationalisation, with a specific focus on the interconnectedness of cross-disciplinary pedagogy and enterprise. By investigating how scholars and academics navigate their identities within diverse cultural contexts, Minyan seeks to contribute to the discourse surrounding inclusive higher education environments.
