Funded by UKRI Creative Research Capability (CResCa) funding program, the ScanLAB is based at the UCA Canterbury campus within the School of Architecture.

3D Printing

With access to the latest high quality FDM 3D printers all our students enjoy free and unlimited PLA rapid prototyping, free to explore iteration after iteration, to really hone in on that perfect design and functionality that is an integral part of any successful design process.

ScanLAB

Through seamless integration of technology and design, The ScanLAB allows our students to explore the possibilities that our cutting edge 3d scanning kit and software provide. From visualisations of architectural interventions in real world environments to reverse engineering and digital fabrication workflows, our metrology grade scanners are increasingly becoming part of the student tool kit.

Laser cutting

All UCA students benefit from full and free access to our 4 laser cutters with dedicated Technical support on hand to support any technical issues from software to hardware, advice on material selection and model making techniques.
