Entry requirements

If you do not have UK qualifications, we will consider equivalent qualifications from Canada for entry onto our Foundation, Bachelor’s and Master’s courses.

Each application we receive is considered individually and therefore these qualifications are provided as a guide.

Please also check the entry requirements on the specific course you are interested in to check for course-specific requirements.

For our Bachelor's courses, we usually require that you have one of the following:

  • High/Secondary School Diploma/Certificate from English-speaking Canada with a minimum of 65 per cent in at least five subjects
  • Arts related Canadian College Diploma
  • Diplôme d'Études Collègiales (DEC) from Quebec with a minimum of 65 per cent in at least five subjects
  • British Columbia Senior Secondary Graduation Diploma with five Bs in grade 12 courses.

For our International Foundation in Creative Practices and our Integrated International Foundation courses, we usually require that you have a satisfactory passes in your Canadian Secondary School Diploma or equivalent school qualification. 

For our Master’s courses, we usually require that you have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree at a recognised university.

For undergraduate applicants who have completed Grade 12 Canadian High School/Secondary School qualifications, we require grade B or 75% in a grade 12 English module.

For postgraduate applicants, if you are a Canadian national we will be able to accept your degree level qualification to meet our English Language requirement.

Scholarships & bursaries

UCA offers a number of fee discounts, also known as scholarships, specific to students from overseas.

These discounts are available to new international students and international alumni, who have graduated within the last three years.

Canadian loans

Federal and Provincial government loans may be offered to students studying at the University for the Creative Arts.
