Accommodation for Clearing applicants

Accommodation guarantee

An accommodation offer is guaranteed for most undergraduate applicants who join us through main Clearing in 2025.

You are guaranteed an offer of accommodation if you: 

• are studying at undergraduate level 
• are applying to study for a course delivered on our Canterbury or Epsom campus 
• receive an offer of study from UCA through Clearing between 14 August 2025 and 22 August 2025   
• you are applying for accommodation at our Epsom or Canterbury campuses 
• meet all the deadlines and conditions stated in your offer of study email 
• are coming to university alone 
• add your course choice to UCAS Hub by midnight (BST) on the day you receive your verbal offer; and 
• apply for accommodation by the deadline confirmed to you in your offer of study email. 

If you do not accept your offer of accommodation within five days it will be withdrawn and re-allocated to another student. 

Please note: We are unable to guarantee that you will receive an offer for your preferred type of room or in your preferred accommodation. If there is a high demand for rooms in our university halls of residence, your accommodation offer may be for a room in accommodation managed by a private accommodation provider. 

If you are offered a room provided and managed by a private accommodation provider, the location will be no further than a 45 minute drive from the campus you are studying at with UCA. 

Offers of study received after 22 August 2025 

If you receive your Clearing offer after 22 August 2025, then unfortunately we're unable to guarantee that you will receive an offer of accommodation. We encourage you to still apply for university accommodation. We process applications for university accommodation on a first-come first-served basis, so the sooner you apply for a place at our university accommodation the more likely it is that we will be able to offer you a room. 

If you are allocated a room, you’ll receive an email advising you to view and accept your room offer online within five days. 
 
If we are unable to allocate you a room in our university accommodation quickly, we will keep you updated on the availability of rooms. We will let you know as early as possible if we do not have any availability and you need to separately secure private accommodation. 

If you haven’t secured university or private accommodation before enrolment week, we will send you an email if we have any rooms available in university accommodation due to students not arriving. We will continue to check the availability of rooms in our university accommodation. 

How to apply for Accommodation 

Your offer email will explain the full process for applying for accommodation.  

After you have accepted your offer to study through UCAS you will receive emails from UCA containing: 

• your username and password to access our student portal (usually the following day); and 
• information about applying for university accommodation (your access to apply online is usually activated within 48 hours). 

Once you have registered on the Accommodation Portal you'll be able to select the campus and type of room you'd like to live in. 

You'll receive an email from UCA by 1 September 2025 about your offer of accommodation and room allocation.
