Welcome to your home for the next few years, and maybe beyond. Welcome to Canterbury. Enjoy getting to know this gorgeous city, with its historic surroundings and its gorgeous café culture.

Our relaxed and friendly campus, featuring its architecture studios, design labs and fine art facilities, is super close to the action. Canterbury Cathedral and an array of shops, cafes and restaurants are just a short walk away, and you’ll find yourself discovering new things all the time, with a wealth of attractions, galleries and museums to explore – not to mention the Kent coastline is just a short bus ride away.

Popular spots for students include The Penny Theatre pub, with its live sport, meal deals, karaoke and quizzes, and for a tasty snack on the go, Cite Crepes is a hit. You can see blockbusters alongside the best indie releases at the Curzon Cinema, or have a day out at Howletts Wild Animal Park for a change of pace.

A relaxing hang-out area for students is Westgate Gardens, which runs alongside the River Stour, and we couldn’t talk about Canterbury without recommending a visit to Canterbury Cathedral itself, with its incredible architecture and stained glass windows.

Enjoy getting to know this gorgeous town, full of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants and only a short train ride to the sights and sounds of London.

Our campus is a short walk to the centre of Epsom. Popular spots include Rosebery Park, opposite the university, for socialising and
relaxing, and The Faraday pub where regular karaoke takes place, as well as bottomless brunches, live sport, weekly quizzes and an extensive vegan menu too.

For shopping, there’s the Ashley Centre shopping mall together with a large range of high street stores, and if you want a bigger day out, you’re close by to Epsom Downs racecourse, and theme parks Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures – and you’re only a short train ride from the centre of London.

There’s also the Epsom Playhouse, with regular touring shows, famous stand-up comedians and tribute acts on the bill for a night out with a difference.

Our campus is right in the heart of the action, a minute’s walk to gorgeous, cobbled streets, shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and arts venues. Student favourites, such as the William Cobbett, can be found in the town centre, together with the Starbucks close to campus.

For a bit of culture, you’ll find regular shows, stand-up comedy, films and activities at Farnham Maltings, and some lively nightlife is just a short bus or train ride away in Guildford, with venues like The Star Inn and Komo nightclub among the many places to have fun.

And for shopping, there’s plenty of choice, with a range of charity shops, book stores, Elphick’s department store, Pullingers art supplies and 101 Collectors Records among the highlights.

You’ll also find stunning countryside walks close to Farnham, including Bourne Woods, where many blockbuster movies have been filmed, and Caesar’s Camp, which gives spectacular views across Surrey and Hampshire.

Your campus: Maidstone TV Studios

Studying in Maidstone gives you the opportunity to learn in a specialist creative environment, while enjoying the flexibility of living either in Canterbury’s on-campus halls or in private accommodation in Maidstone itself.

Many students choose to stay in our on-campus halls in Canterbury and take advantage of the our shuttle service to and from the Maidstone TV Studios campus. It’s a convenient option that lets you enjoy the vibrant student life and facilities of Canterbury, while studying at one of the UK’s leading commercial production studios.

Maidstone is a lively riverside town with plenty of amenities and entertainment. You’ll find shops, restaurants, gyms, cafés and cinemas, as well as peaceful green spaces like Mote Park when you need a break from the screen or stage.

Being based at the Maidstone TV Studios also means you’re studying in a working broadcast environment, giving you insight into the industry and access to cutting-edge production spaces.

Maidstone is well connected, with direct trains to London in under an hour, plus easy links to Canterbury and other surrounding towns.
