Monday 15 September: Welcome & Campus Orientation

Monday is all about getting familiar with UCA and starting to build a student community.

You'll be at our Canterbury campus on Monday. You may go straight to the campus or, for those closer to Maidstone, a bus will be provided from Maidstone Studios, departing at 08.30. Please ensure you go to Canterbury Campus and not Maidstone Studios.

  • 9.30-10.30am: Welcome Ceremony (Kirk Lecture Theatre)
    Inspiring opening talk with a warm welcome from staff and student reps.
  • 10.30-11am: Refreshment Break (the Nook)
  • 11am-12.30pm: Campus Top Trumps Hunt (all over campus)
  • 12.30-1.30pm: Lunch Break
  • 1.30-2.15pm: Week-Long Project Briefing by Programme Director
  • 2.15-3pm:— Campus Q&A (Canteen)
    Ambassadors share practical tips and answer student questions.
  • 3.30-4.30pm: Update International Students (A1: 02)
    Learn about visa support, cultural integration, and living in the UK.
  • 3.30-4.30pm: Direct Entry Students (Year 2/3)
    Meet Programme Directors and peers, with guidance on joining midway through the programme.

Tuesday 16 September: Course Discovery & Academic Integration

Tuesday will be your first day at Maidstone Studios. A bus will be provided from Canterbury for those who need it (departing Canterbury Campus at 9am).

Wednesday 17 September Social Life & Local Exploration

Wednesday is all about building connections and exploring the area.

You'll be at our Canterbury campus on Wednesday. Please ensure you go to Canterbury Campus and not Maidstone Studios.

  • 11am-3pm: Freshers’ Fair (Campus Green)
    Discover clubs, societies, support services, and local businesses.
  • 1-4.30pm: 16.30 International Student Visa Checks (Kirk Lecture Theatre)
    Students to bring requested documentation to authenticate study visas.
  • 5.30-7.30pm: Town Tour Bingo (Meeting point: the Nook)

Thursday 18 September: Behind the Scenes & Learning Spaces

Thursday will be your second day at Maidstone Studios. A bus will be provided from Canterbury for those who need it (departing Canterbury Campus at 9am).

  • 3.45-4pm: Closing Q&A
    The course team will answer and questions from the day and signpost the next events.
  • 4.15pm: Shuttle bus departs for Canterbury

Friday 19 September: Collaboration & Celebration

Friday will bring the week together through creativity and connection.

You'll be at our Canterbury campus on Friday. Please ensure you go to Canterbury Campus and not Maidstone Studios.

  • 9.30am-1pm: Campus Collaborative Project (Herbert Read Gallery)
  • 1-2pm: Lunch Break
  • 2-4.30pm: Final Showcase
    Students present their week-long work and visit each other’s exhibits – including the Campus Collaborative Project.
  • 1-4.30pm: International Student Visa Checks (Kirk Lecture Theatre)
    Students to bring requested documentation to authenticate study visas.
