With the guidance of our experienced technical practitioners, you will explore a range of exciting creative practices across
this week-long course.

By combining our traditional workshops and state‑of‑the‑art facilities, you'll be immersed in studio culture and develop your own creative insight through hands‑on experimentation and exploration of materials and process.

By the end of the course you will have:

• Explored a range of exciting creative disciplines and processes
• Developed your technical and creative reasoning skills
• Increased confidence in sharing your creative practice
• Developed a series of unique outcomes that reflect your artistic insight

This is the perfect taster for young creatives looking to expand their interests, problem-solving abilities and critical analysis skills through artistic practice. The course will support the development of a multi-disciplinary mini portfolio of engaging activities ready to exhibit at the end of the week.

The programme also includes additional, staff-supported social and wellbeing time to build your creative network with other young people and enjoy additional free-to-join activities.

Your achievements will be celebrated with a certificate ceremony and exhibition for family and friends at the end of the week in
one of UCA Canterbury’s specialist gallery spaces.

What a typical day looks like

• Morning: introduction and hands-on workshop
• Midday: experimentation and development
• Afternoon: project work and outcomes
• Late afternoon: supervised creative or social activities
