Learn in real recording studios with industry-standard kit: mics, outboard equipment, and an ever-growing collection of instruments.

By studying at a specialist creative arts university, you'll be surrounded by filmmakers, animators, actors, and game designers, all who need sound for their projects. You're not on the edges of a creative community here, you’re right in the middle of it collaborating with talented creatives with endless ideas.

You'll be taught at our Farnham campus in Surrey.

Purpose-built studios, workshops and production spaces give you the freedom to experiment and collaborate in a vibrant creative community.

Music facilities & equipment

Our teaching spaces have a mixture of analogue and digital equipment. We have sound editing, recording and mixing suites with software such as Avid Pro Tools, Steinberg Dorico and Cubase, Ableton Live, Max/MSP, Logic Pro and the Vienna Symphonic Library.

The media store has a good supply of equipment to hire, specialist music equipment includes: Ableton push controllers, amplifiers, midi keyboards and high quality microphones such as the Neuman U87 and AKG 414.

You'll also have access to the Grove Music dictionary and Naxos Music Library.

Live Music Studio

This performance space contains a variety of musical instruments.

This studio contains musical instruments and interfaces, full AV and projector screen.

Music Control Room

This studio contains a 24 channel analogue mixing desk and professional audio monitoring solutions.

Interior of the Acting & Performance Studio

W40 Performance Space

This large acting space includes a stage and a full AV/PA system. It is also used as an event space by the Students' Union.

Farnham Library

This is our largest library space, which includes:

55 iMac workstations
41 PC workstations
4 study pods with electrical connections and monitor
2 study pods without monitor
5 DSA Loanable laptops (students can borrow from the library only if approved by our Disability staff on DDA grounds, for an agreed period)
Large collection of LGBTQ+, Fashion, Feminist, Photography, Mental Health and Illustration Zines
