We know that funding your studies is a big consideration, so we want to be clear about what your tuition fees cover and what additional costs you might need to plan for.
Your tuition fees include:
- Course-related costs, including teaching and course administration
- Access to all facilities and studios (even those outside your main area of study)
- Students’ Union membership
- Access to support services, including wellbeing, counselling, financial advice, and career support
- Full access to our libraries that contain millions of books, journals, articles, and digital media artefacts
Additional costs
Getting the most out of a creative arts education can sometimes involve paying more than just your tuition fee.
You may sometimes find yourself having to pay for additional expenses such as:
- Project materials and equipment typically costs between £100-500 per year, but will vary depending on the course you choose to study.
- Local field trips are sometimes free, but may have associated travel costs. Some courses estimate up to £100 per year for these trips.
- International study excursions could cost anywhere between an £200-800 per trip, depending on the location and time of year.
- Studying abroad will involve extra costs such as travel, accommodation, visas, and insurance that may cost anywhere from £800 to £ 2,000 per month. These costs are highly variable depending on where you choose to study and for how long.
- Printing and photocopying typically cost students around £15–£20 per year on average, though some may spend significantly more or less depending on their needs.
