RURALE was an offsite Multistory salon organised for the Venice Architecture Biennale. The theme was RURALE, an appropriately Anglo/Italian hybrid word centred around the question: what does it mean to talk about the countryside in the city? We explored this through a fantastic set of speakers: Stefano Tornieri, Cristina Monteiro (DK-CM), James Binning ( Ecological Land Co-operative), Maria Lisogorskaya (Assemble) and Bianca Elzenbaumer (Brave New Alps) and Charles Holland.
Multistory is the long-standing public programme organised by the School of Architecture and Design (CSAD), and which sits at the intersection of its research, knowledge exchange, and teaching activities. We seek to mobilise Multistory to position UCA at the centre of contemporary debates on architecture and design in the UK and internationally. Since 2022 the programme has been convened by Professors of Architecture Charles Holland and Cat Rossi. Multistory visual identity by Ben Moore.
