We recognise that students who commute from home to their campus of study often face substantial travel costs.
To help support these students, we are offering a bursary up to a maximum of £700 to undergraduate students who apply through Clearing and are not taking up residence in university accommodation.
Bursary value
A one-off cash payment of up to £700 depending on distance from campus of study to term-time residence.
Bands are as follows:
- £500 for students living 1-15 miles from campus
- £700 for students living more than 15 miles from campus
Selection criteria
To be eligible for the Local Bursary, you must:
- Be starting a full-time undergraduate course at UCA in 2025
- Have applied through Clearing between the 5 July and 20 October
- Be UK-domiciled, normally resident in England (Be a UK national, Irish citizen, or have settled status)
- Not live in university accommodation
- Commute to your UCA campus from a term-time home address
- Have not made previous applications to study at UCA within this academic cycle
Application process
Once you have accepted your offer to study with us you will receive an email which contains a link to the Local Bursary application form.
We'll let you know whether you are eligible to receive the bursary in early November, with payment to follow in December.
