Professor Sophy Smith

Jamie Dobson is the Executive Dean of the Farnham School of Creative & Cultural Industries and a Professor of Creative Technologies Practice.

Bio

Prior to joining UCA she held teaching, research and management roles across more than 15 years in the Institute of Creative Technologies at De Montfort University.

Sophy holds a BA (Hons) in Music and Inter Arts, a PGCE in Secondary Music and Special Educational Needs, and an MA in Contemporary Performing Arts, from the University of Leeds. Her PhD in Music Technology was awarded by De Montfort University.

Alongside her academic career, Sophy has been a composer in residence, a creative agent, an artistic director, and a creative consultant.  She continues to compose on a freelance basis.
