Head of Creative Careers and Employability
I am thrilled to join the University for the Creative Arts as Head of Creative Careers and Employability. With a career dedicated to empowering students and graduates to transition seamlessly from academia into fulfilling, sustainable professional paths, I am eager to contribute this expertise to UCA’s dynamic creative community.
Bio
Most recently, as Deputy Head of Careers and Enterprise at Queen Mary University of London, I led a large team in delivering comprehensive employer engagement, enterprise education, and experiential learning initiatives. In this capacity, I spearheaded the development and execution of strategies for employer, SME, and international partnerships, while fostering student and graduate start-ups. I prioritized inclusive and accessible provision, introducing innovative programmes that equipped participants with essential skills, networks, and confidence to thrive in competitive industries.
Previously, I directed the Employer Engagement team at Kingston University, collaborating closely with academic faculty and industry stakeholders to cultivate opportunities, establish sector-specific career pathways, and integrate practical, real-world applications into curricula. My work with Kingston School of Art, in particular, involved forging strong ties with creative industry employers, a focus I am excited to advance at UCA.
Throughout my tenure at both institutions, I have championed collaborative team-building, aligned employability strategies with institutional goals, and ensured equitable access to opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds.
Originally from the South Wales Valleys, I bring a deep appreciation for community and resilience to my work. Outside of professional pursuits, I maintain an active interest in sports, particularly football, and enjoy exploring music across genres, which continues to inspire my creative approach.
