Delivered by Media Talent Manifesto (MTM), On Air is a multi-channel global student broadcast that brings together students, educators and industry partners with channels dedicated to culture, news, sport, film and children’s content.
Senior Lecturer in Television Production, Katarina Sengstaken, said: "This is practice-based learning at its best: real contributors, real stakes, real outcomes — and exactly the kind of experience that prepares students for freelance life in UK."
Two multi-camera, pre-recorded programmes, titled ‘Freelancing in Focus’, produced by BA (Hons) Television Production students will broadcast as part of On Air’s 24-hour livestreamed event.
‘Industry Insights’ focuses on advice for working in the film and TV industry as a freelancer with UCA Television Production alum and freelance cinematographer, Sam Creamer and Funny Hands Media founder Del Brown.

‘Graduate Insights’ features freelancer advice from recent Television Production graduates, Euan Kemm and Adam Parks. Euan is a freelance Production and Talent Runner and Adam Parks is a freelance Runner.

Carrie Wootten, Founder of MTM, said: “By expanding the broadcast into multiple channels, we can involve more institutions, more students and more industry partners, while continuing to showcase what the next generation of media talent is capable of on a global stage.”

On Air 2026 will broadcast live globally on Thursday 22 October 2026, with content available on demand following the event.
