About the course

Across four practical evenings in UCA's specialist ceramics facilities, you'll explore fundamental hand-building techniques including pinching, coiling and slab building while experimenting with form, texture and surface.

You'll use these techniques to develop your own pieces before exploring decoration and glazing to give your work its final finish.

Designed for complete beginners, the course gives you the opportunity to experiment with clay, learn practical ceramic techniques and develop your own ideas with guidance from experienced UCA staff.

You'll leave with: a small collection of your own hand-built and glazed ceramic pieces.*

*Ceramics require kiln firing, so finished work may need to be collected from UCA after the course.
