Mike graduated from Loughborough University with a BA (Hons) in Library Studies. In the years following, he first worked in public libraries in the Midlands and London before moving into first computer support and then computing services management in the public sector leisure services business.
He spent ten years working for an independent leisure services trust where he became Head of Support and Development, before leaving to become an independent consultant working with companies such as Cisco and Honeywell, as well as schools and public sector clients.
In 2010 he returned to the libraries sector as Business Development Manager for Barnet Libraries, running not only the professional library service but also Museums and Archives, Stock Supply and Computing Support. Mike joined UCA in 2015.
Mike’s experience is wide but has been principally focused on providing library services, running computing and communications services, managing multi-disciplinary teams and business/portfolio management.
Mike holds a Prince 2 Practitioner project management qualification. He is also skilled in managing Freedom of Information, Environmental Information and Data Protection Access requests.
