As a student on one of our Photography courses, we’ll encourage you to learn, think, see, create and play. We aim to ignite your passion for photography and provide you with inspiration and experience in this rich and varied discipline. We have a strong ethos of conducting hands-on work in studio environments, and we provide great opportunities for collaboration – being a specialist creative arts institution. You’ll get to experiment, take risks and use your individuality and flair to become an expert in creating original visual work.
Our dedicated staff have extensive experience as practitioners and researchers within the field, and will work to nurture your technical and core photographic abilities – from traditional to innovative, still to moving, analogue to high-end digital – both as an individual and within a networked community. As part of your degree, you’ll produce fresh and innovative work, striving to critically engage with audiences, ask questions and comment on the surrounding world. We’ll also equip you with useful skills in research and communication skills, critical reflection, ethical judgement, cultural knowledge, teamwork, and project management.
Once you’ve completed your degree with us, you’ll have accrued industry knowledge and experience engaging with external partners, and be confident with collaborative projects and exhibiting. Some of our graduates have pursued careers in fashion, editorial, fine art and documentary photography as well as advertising, picture editing and technical support. As an experiential learner, you’ll ultimately be driven by concept and intuition – setting you up for an exciting future in photography.
