UCA Farnham - 2021
Length of study:
10 weeks full-time
Campus:
UCA Farnham
Course entry options:
Our Pre-Sessional English language course is specifically designed to prepare you to study art and design at UCA. The 10 week course will improve your IELTS by 1.0 which can help you to meet the language requirement for your main course of study.
If you don't require less of an improvement in your English language skills more we also offer a 6 week course which will improve your IELTS score by up to 0.5.
We welcome students who speak English as second language, and those who are simply new to a university environment. Our tutors can help you to communicate effectively and creatively in your chosen field as well as develop intercultural skills.
By undertaking a Pre-Sessional English course you will not only improve your IELTS score, but also improve your academic English, expand your art and design vocabulary, develop your research skills, boost your confidence as a creative arts student in the UK and help you to understand more about living and studying here.
Our Pre-Sessional English courses are available if you are progressing onto an undergraduate or postgraduate course, or the Graduate Diploma: Art & Design course with us.
Head of EAP Programmes
Heather McClean is the Head of EAP Programmes, including Pre-Sessional English for Art and Design, Pre-Sessional English for Business, English for Creative Arts, and the In-Sessional EAP programme.
"The language and culture was a big challenge for me at the beginning. The pre-sessional course definitely helped! I made lots of friends from other courses and campuses and they were all from different areas which made for a good experience in cultural exchange."
