Stage 1
Introduction to Creative Business and Management
Throughout this unit you will learn about different styles, approaches and tools used in creative business and management historically and how these are developing in the present day. This information will be taught through practical workshops, lecture and seminar series, talks from industry professionals and first hand study visits to relevant UK businesses. Combining practical, entrepreneurial and contextual skills, you will use a combination of hands on field work and desk based methods. This unit focuses on developing core English language, research and study skills whatever level you are currently at. The importance of study skills and command of language in listening, speaking, reading and writing are all essential to studying in a new environment and education system. We have designed this unit to run throughout the entire course to support your incremental development. This enables you to develop each of these skills at your own pace as you progress through the course. -
Stage 2
Marketing, Communication and Branding
This unit will enable you to develop foundational knowledge in a range of Marketing and Branding skills specially for creative communication. The unit will also develop your creative idea generation. You will develop this range of skills by looking at examples of different marketing and branding practices, styles and tools and through hands on workshops that will explore digital tools, platforms and technology. Stage 3
Creative Business Project
This unit involves researching, developing and presenting a self-directed creative business project. It is an opportunity to make informed choices in your subject focus, research, practical ideas development and final presentation. This unit will support you in confirming your interests within creative business, develop your digital fluency, design skills and engagement with creative technology. It is also designed to help you begin to develop a professional practice through applying self-directed independent learning skills. These fees are correct for the stated academic year only. Costs may increase each year during a student’s period of continued registration on course in line with inflation (subject to any maximum regulated tuition fee limit). Any adjustment for continuing students will be at or below the RPI-X forecast rate.

Fee discounts and scholarships
All full cost (non-EU) students who successfully complete the International Foundation and progress to a UCA undergraduate course will receive a £1,500 discount on the standard listed tuition fee for the first academic year of their undergraduate course. If the tuition fees are paid in full before enrolment, an additional 4% discount is applied.
A student-to-staff ratio of 15:1 means a high level of tutor interaction, so you can develop at your own pace. You will learn and practice specific art, design and business vocabulary in preparation for your undergraduate course. The course is highly practical, engaging you in key skills through group and individual projects. Alongside these core skills you will be given tasks developing not only your English skills but also your presentation, communication, essay writing and referencing skills.
