Portfolio Bootcamp

Our Portfolio Bootcamps are here to help you build up content for your portfolio. It is a series of free online creative workshops that will help you to create a new work and will give you an idea of what to expect from studying with us. So, if you’re applying to study an art and design foundation programme or undergraduate degree at university in 2021 then this programme is for you.

Register NOW for Portfolio Bootcamp: Film and Animation, 20th November – 4th December 2021

Over 3 weeks, you will explore storyboarding, animation, and filmmaking with Senior Lecturer Katarina Sengstaken – sign up if you are planning to apply for degree programme in Film, Animation, or anything that involves moving images and visual narrative!

The Portfolio Bootcamps will run on Saturday mornings, 10am – 12 noon. By the end of the programme, you will have worked on several new pieces of work, that can be used to show off your creativity on its own, or complement existing work, when applying to university.

You don’t need any specialist equipment to take part. The Portfolio Bootcamp is about making artwork by recycling, upcycling, and repurposing materials and using everyday packaging. We will email you each week with a list of suggested materials.

This programme is completely free to attend, however by signing up we ask you commit to attending all 3 sessions and to truly throw yourself into the creative process! Places are limited so register in advance to secure your spot.

Our portfolio workshop will take place within an online classroom on Blackboard Collaborate, a secure platform used by University for the Creative Arts (UCA). You will not use a webcam or participate via video. All sessions will be monitored and supervised by University of the Creative Arts employees. Participants will be sent a secure link to the virtual classroom as well as a suggested equipment list in advance of the sessions.
