Maren Hahnfeld

Maren Hahnfeld joined UCA as Lecturer in Film Production and Photography in 2013. Prior to this, she worked in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Kingston University and in the Department of Media at Middlesex University.

Maren was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany. She is an artist filmmaker, senior lecturer at the University for the Creative Arts and currently completing a practice-based PhD at CREAM, University of Westminster. Maren’s projects have been produced with the help of research grants and screened at film festivals and photo exhibitions internationally. Her work explores the lives of marginal communities through personal narratives that reflect social or political change and address issues of identity, home and memory. Maren’s current research is exploring the lives of refugees in small communities in Germany.
