As an artist Chris is predominately interested in the role of the photographic medium and its representational abilities.
His practice, although deeply rooted within personal experience and the physical process of production, is informed by the historical and contemporary debates surrounding the notion of 'reality representation'. Chris' practice often relies upon collaboration with his subject matter, placing himself within his work, the use of archival material and ephemeral documentation.
Juxtaposing these elements along with his constructed and non-constructed images allows him to explore the boundaries between fact and fiction. A further layering is the questioning of traditional notions of art, critical elitism and the use of the vernacular.
