Barbara is a senior lecturer for BA (Hons) Fashion and responsible for the Year 3 delivery of Pre- and Final collection development, as well as fashion illustration.
Upon graduating from Central Saint Martins with a first class degree in Fashion Design and an MA in Fashion Design Womenswear from the Royal College of Art in 2000, she embarked on a career designing for international fashion companies.
Whilst teaching as a sessional lecturer at the RCA from 2005, as well as a consultant for curriculum development at a variety of national and international Fashion design courses, Barbara has established herself as a freelance designer and continues to develop pre-seasonal capsule collections distributed to international fashion houses.
Over the last 14 years Barbara has gained an eclectic and extensive experience as a fashion designer and tutor and shares her knowledge and skills through teaching as well through her directional role in the development of a design-led three year curriculum at the fashion course at UCA Epsom.
Prior to her career in fashion Barbara has undergone a three year apprenticeship in historical costume construction at the National Opera in Munich, Germany and consequently worked in the costume department for various theatre productions. She worked for three years in Kenya, East Africa within a foreign aid project teaching at a school for garment construction and the preservation of traditional African costume.
