Here & Now is the first major curated exhibition of contemporary tapestry in England for over 20 years and demonstrates the commitment to contemporary tapestry internationally. The works showcase the ways in which the narrative heritage of the medium is used to engage with political, aesthetic and personal issues of current discourse, and emphasise that the art of tapestry weaving is contemporary and relevant across the world.
Curated by Professor Lesley Millar
The show has been partly funded by the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation; the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation and the Japan Foundation.
Here & Now is a touring exhibition from the National Centre for Craft & Design.
