3D Thinking and Paper Maquettes

Explore how we transform 2D into 3D with this session, creating your own paper maquette (model) from observational drawings.

Using experimental mark making and sketching techniques, investigate 2D shape and form on paper, before photocopying, collaging and incorporating 3D materials and translating these drawings into small models.

Maquettes are a technique used to investigate space, try out materials and test prototypes, used in many creative disciplines including fine art, architecture, product design and film.
