Year Group: Years 11 & 12

Location: UCA Rochester
Computer generated imagery is everywhere; in film, in games, on television, on tablets, on phones. Animated movies routinely top the global box office. The demand for original CGI content is inexhaustible. The technology behind CGI is complex and powerful, but technology alone isn’t the secret to producing entertaining and memorable computer animation.
To be a successful CG artist, you need a wide range of skills and experience, including traditional life-drawing, digital painting and character design techniques. You need to understand and apply the principles of animation and you need to understand how a character might think, feel and move. This short course at UCA Rochester, delivered by the teaching team from BA Hons Computer Animation Arts will give you the opportunity to experience the fundamentals of animation and acquire the nuts and bolts of the CG Artist’s toolkit.
