Grace – who entered the awards for the first time last year – decided to enter this year’s awards with her photography series ‘Tara & Luca’, which was shot whilst working on a client brief set by UCA's course in collaboration with the brand Hermès. Grace said: “We got given a Hermès tie or scarf and Hermès asked us to produce an editorial with the accessory as the main focus. I took a lot of inspiration from the old-school western romance and more recent films like True Romance and Paris Texas. I shot the series on my great uncles’ medium format Yashica Mat-124G camera in my home city of Canterbury, this made the project quite personal and hopefully added to the timeless and nostalgic feel of the series.

“Being shortlisted reminds you that hard work and passion can pay off, and it really gives you that push to keep on producing new work and to keep moving forward. Getting exposure is key to working your way into the industry, so to have my work shared on different platforms through the competition has been really great.”

The EIZO winners will be announced on Friday 14 June.
