Epsom and Ewell Business Awards held at UCA for fifth successive year

UCA Epsom has once again welcomed the area’s finest entrepreneurs to the annual Epsom and Ewell Business Awards, founded by the Rt Hon Chris Grayling MP, in 2011.

The awards recognise and reward the region’s most promising businesses and individuals across 11 categories. This year’s winners included UCA Epsom Graphic Design alumni Katie and James Alexander, who received the Best Business in Ashtead title for Gladstone Design, a professional business solutions agency recently set up by the pair.

During this year’s launch event, Mr Grayling said: “Epsom and Ewell has always had a dynamic business community, and our businesses continue to provide an excellent service to their customers. The Epsom & Ewell Business Awards have made a real difference to the profile of businesses locally and I am delighted to launch them once again this year. I urge people to take the opportunity to give businesses and individuals in the area a boost and to nominate outstanding contributors.”

Celebrating everything from young entrepreneurs, to customer service, food and hospitality, and design and technology, the awards acknowledge the strength of local business within the region.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Bashir Makhoul welcomed visitors on the night to UCA Epsom, which has recently seen the launch of the UK’s first Business School for the Creative Industries, offering a range of courses combining creative development with business approaches at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
