Increased student satisfaction at UCA rounds up a year of league table climbs

We’ve bucked the national trend when it comes to student satisfaction for the second year running, having increased our ranking by four percentage points. The National Student Satisfaction Survey (NSS) results show that 81% of our final year students were satisfied with their educational experience. In other universities across the country the level of student satisfaction has remained largely static. Many areas were explored in the NSS survey, including our students’ views on the feedback and support they’ve received at UCA, and the organisation of their courses.

These impressive results round up an academic year in which we’ve made significant rises in every major league table. We’ve soared ten places in the Complete University Guide to become not only the fastest climber, but also the highest ranked specialist creative university.

We’ve also had success in the most recent Sunday Times University Guide where we’ve climbed 25 places, and The Guardian’s subject tables where we’ve broken into the Architecture top 10 and the Fashion & Textiles top 20.

Our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Simon Ofield-Kerr, explains how our hard work is paying off, saying: “over the last three years we’ve taken some significant steps to enhance the student experience here at UCA. We’ve invested in the campus environment and set ourselves rigorous standards when it comes to providing feedback to students and supporting their creative development.” He adds that he’s “so proud of the community of staff and students here at UCA who’ve made it happen.”
