Architecture experts from all over the country are taking to the stage at our new Multistory guest lecture series. The 2015-2016 series is a student and alumni-led programme from the Canterbury School of Architecture, with talks being held at our Canterbury campus.
The series kicked off at the beginning of the month with the first ‘What we did next’ feature, which saw our alumni return to share their experiences in industry since graduating. The alumni give their presentations in a PechaKucha format – showing 20 images for 20 seconds each.
Throughout the rest of the series guest speakers, including The Guardian’s architecture critic Oliver Wainwright and Architectural Review’s contributing editor Jack Self, will take to the stage to speak about their work.
Organising this year’s Multistory is Master of Architecture student Daniel Stilwell, who’s hoping to build on the success of the past years’ series. Daniel is keen to engage students by cultivating a critical culture and sense of activism within the School of Architecture.
As a fan of the lecture series while studying BA (Hons) Architecture at our Canterbury campus, Daniel says that the sheer variety of speakers and disciplines at this year’s Multistory in particular is a real highlight for him.
“Each speaker has a fascinating allure to their work and themselves and that's what caught my eye – the collaboration, the criticality and the cross disciplinary approach they all take is something that’s reflected in the students and throughout the series.”
