Fashion Promotion & Imaging students support carers charity at business awards

Our Epsom campus has just hosted the annual Epsom and Ewell Business Awards, which celebrates excellence in regional entrepreneurship. Ten categories honoured the hallmarks of an exceptional business, including Best New Business, Best Business for Customer Service, and the crowning title of Best Overall Business 2015 – which this year was won by Home Instead Senior Care, which provides personalised care for elderly people in and around Epsom and Ewell.

Held at our Epsom campus for the third successive year, the awards were founded in 2011 by local MP, the Rt Hon Chris Grayling.

“This is the fifth edition of the Epsom and Ewell Business Awards and I’m delighted to say it gets better each and every year,” said Mr Grayling. “The Epsom and Ewell Business Awards have made a real difference to the profile of businesses locally and I am delighted to launch them for the fifth year.  I urge people to take the opportunity to give businesses and individuals in the area a boost and to nominate outstanding contributors.”

The evening also served to highlight local charity My Time – an initiative which provides support and enrichment for young carers. Students from our Fashion Promotion and Imaging degree course collaborated with My Time, and undertook a live brief which involved designing T-shirts and a campaign to raise awareness for the organisation. Their T-shirts were showcased on the night and sold to guests, with all proceeds going to the charity.
