UCA welcomes Epsom’s top entrepreneurs

The best of Epsom business has once again returned to UCA for the annual Epsom & Ewell Business Awards, hosted by local MP the Rt Hon Chris Grayling.

The awards highlight the success stories of businesses and individuals from the local area. Founded by Mr Grayling in 2011, they celebrate everything from the best new business in town to the best for commitment to the environment. There are ten prize categories overall, with the this year’s top prize of Best Overall Business awarded to local estate agents The Personal Agent.

Students from Epsom College were on hand to showcase their entrepreneurial skills with projects they have been carrying out as part of Young Enterprise. Their work included hand-made Christmas decorations, tickets for an adult and child golf day, and new sportswear designs, which were all on sale on the night.

This is the fourth successive year that the awards have been held at our Epsom campus and among this year’s judges was our Associate Head of Fashion, Lee Widdows.

Opening nominations for the event, Mr Grayling said: “Epsom and Ewell has always had a dynamic business community, and our businesses continue to provide an excellent service to their customers. The Epsom & Ewell Business Awards have made a real difference to the profile of businesses locally and I am delighted to launch them once again this year. I urge people to take the opportunity to give businesses and individuals in the area a boost and to nominate outstanding contributors.”
