Fusing art with jewellery: alumni Tracey Emin & Stephen Webster launch joint collection

Two of our well-known alumni, Tracey Emin CBE RA and Stephen Webster MBE, have combined their artistic talents to create a new jewellery collection called I Promise to Love You. Tracey is a Turner Prize nominated artist and Stephen is the founder of the luxury jewellery brand of the same name. Having known each other for decades, they’ve collaborated on an exclusive collection of bracelets, rings, earrings, tiepins and cufflinks, with designs that unite art and jewellery.

I Promise to Love You features the words ‘love’, ‘more passion’ and ‘with you I breathe’ – inscribed in Tracey’s signature writing – on gold rings, bracelets and cuffs, as well as a series of charms that are based on her famous sketches of woodland creatures.

Tracey and Stephen both studied at one of our founding colleges. Tracey graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Maidstone College of Art in 1988 and has gone on to become one of the most influential artists of our time. As one of the artists in the Young British Artists (YBAs) who emerged in the nineties, along with other famous faces such as Damien Hirst, Tracey has exhibited at well-known galleries including White Cube and the Saatchi Gallery. We currently offer Fine Art courses at our Canterbury and Farnham campuses – find out more about them here.

Stephen studied Jewellery and Silversmithing at the Medway College of Design at the age of 16. We’ve since formed a number of jewellery, crafts and design courses which are guided by expert academic and technical staff who hold a wealth of experience. Discover more about these courses here.
