Email FAQs

Why do I have a ucreative email account?

All students are provided with a ucreative email account and all your university email communication will be sent to this email address.  You need to check your Ucreative email account regularly to ensure that you are aware and respond to messages there. It will also provide you with a useful professionally named email account for responsible emails.

Please note you must use your ucreative email if you are seeking assistance from libraryitsupport@ucreative.ac.uk or any other UCA department or services, as otherwise we cannot validate your request.

What is my ucreative email address?

Students' email addresses exist in the form of their username followed by @students.ucreative.ac.uk. For instance if John Smith's username is jsmith4, then his email address would be jsmith4@students.ucreative.ac.uk

How do I access my ucreative email?

Via Webmail (Outlook Web App).

You can also access your email on campus or off campus using your computer login by visiting https://mail.uca.ac.uk.
In the box marked Username just enter your computer login, not your complete email address.  Do not change any of the option buttons.

Please note that this application will time out after a period of inactivity, so save your drafts regularly.

My mailbox is full - what should I do?

First of all, delete as many items in your inbox and sent mail folder as possible.

When you delete email from your account (either received or sent mail) this only transfers to your deleted items folder which still counts towards the total amount of email in your account.  Navigate to this folder and delete all this mail as well to totally remove it from your account.

Are there any restrictions to the size of my mailbox?

Currently, there is a limit of 1GB on the amount of data in your email account. When your mailbox gets close to the limit, you will receive warning messages by email. At 1GB your account will get locked and you will not be able to receive more email.
