Visas and immigration
If you are a European Union (EU), EEA or Swiss citizen arriving in the UK before 31 December 2020, you currently do not need a student visa to come to the UK to study, and you can apply just the same as a UK student – details of how to apply are on each of our course pages.
If you arrive in the UK before 31 December 2020 and want to stay in the UK, you will need to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme. You have until 30 June 2021 to apply.
If you are an EU, EEA, or Swiss national* and you are arriving in the UK to study on or after January 1, 2021, you will require immigration permission and a visa.
*with the exception of Irish nationals living in the UK and Ireland who will continue to access benefits and services under the Common Travel Area arrangement. More detailed information can be found on the UKCISA website.
