Kas Williams is an artist with a profound love of colour and an experimental approach towards making. Two constant themes are colour and music and she works across multiple mediums always with the same intention of using a visual vocabulary which crosses all materials.
"I’ve always found a lyrical energy and exuberance in colour that is very seductive and the layering of colour shade and pattern to me resonates with the way sound tone and texture are layered to create music. I learned process, chemistry and the science of colour from the craft of printing which finely tuned a way of thinking in layers that has always come naturally to me. Using digital technology embraced as a tool to enhance my skills now enables me to innovate, making some pieces that couldn’t be created any other way”
Kas graduated with a Masters Distinction in Textiles from the University for the Creative Arts and has exhibited widely both in the UK and Internationally.
