Dear parents & carers
We write on behalf of the children that came before – those who were discouraged from making the creative choice. We write on behalf of these…
I’m honestly just doing linguistics for my parents. They expect me to get a ‘good’ degree, to get a secure job – they think working in the film industry won’t get me anywhere.
The Student Room
We ask you; do you really mean it when you say to your child, “you can pursue your dreams”?
Because in the week of A-level results day and Clearing, please support your child in making the creative choice – their choice.
After all, up until now you’ve intentionally driven their creativity and invested in them – their dance classes, music lessons and displayed their artwork with pride.
We understand the hopes and concerns that come with guiding your child’s higher education and subject choice. You want the best for them – a secure future.
But… a creative choice is a career choice.
Creative industries are worth £124 billion a year to the UK economy and support more than 2.4 million jobs.
Your child can have a secure future AND importantly pursue their dreams…
Please remember this, this week.
Many thanks
