Textiles Technician
Mairi Gillies is one of the textiles technicians at UCA Farnham. She specialises in woven textiles and fibre dyeing techniques.
Bio
Mairi studied BA Textiles, specialising in constructed and woven textiles at Central Saint Martins (UAL). Alongside her studies, she gained industry experience at various design studios in London and Copenhagen. Since graduating in 2022, Mairi has worked as a freelance woven textile designer for fashion and interior design studios in London before starting her role as Technician in woven and dyed textiles at UCA.
Alongside working at UCA, Mairi has her own studio in London where she researches and develops regenerative yarn and weaving processes. She also sells a range of her own hand-woven products and exhibits woven art pieces at exhibitions across the UK.
