Lucy Chick

Lucy Chick joined UCA as Further Education pathway leader in Fashion and Textiles in 2007 and then also started working as a senior lecturer on the Rochester Fashion Course in 2011.

Bio

Before these teaching positions Lucy was a menswear and knitwear designer for 18 years, holding senior design positions at Reiss, Tommy Hilfiger USA, Gieves and Hawkes and Pringle. She graduated with a BA (Hons) Fashion and Textiles from Middlesex University in 1990 and went on to study MA Knitted Textiles at the Royal College of Art, graduating in 1992. In 2012 she completed her postgraduate certificate in teaching for the Creative Arts at UCA.

Research statement

As well as being involved in textile and fashion research projects Lucy’s current research is into the use of visual research and sketchbooks in Fashion Design. She is currently writing a complex collaborative research project proposal which aims to create online teaching materials for Fashion Design students.
