Visiting Professor of Business and Sustainable Development

David Wheeler is an internationally experienced academic leader and business person with three decades of senior leadership experience. As well as significant international experience in the private and academic sectors and notable experience with sustainable related issues.

Bio
In those three decades, David has provided advice to numerous governments, businesses and civil society organizations pursuing sustainable development, with much of the last ten years focused on his advisory work in the fields of energy conservation and renewable energy policy, both in Canada and the UK. In particular, he was responsible for the processes that set up Efficiency Nova Scotia and the Alberta Energy Efficiency Agency and is also a co-founder of the Academy for Sustainable Innovation, a non-profit social venture committed to equipping a generation of young professionals with the skills and knowledge to manage transition to a low carbon and socially just economy.
David’s most recent academic posts include; Pro Vice-Chancellor (Sustainability) and Dean of Business at Plymouth University; Chairman and Co-Founder International Higher Education Group LLC; and most recently Strategic Advisor to the Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Studies at York University.
David has also published more than 80 articles and book chapters in a wide variety of academic journals, books, parliamentary inquiries and popular journals, has done numerous television and radio broadcasts on environmental and social issues and business, as well as winning a national award for the DelAgua drinking water test kit, which he co-developed and is now being used by numerous agencies in developing countries across the world.
