Research statement

Rebecca’s interdisciplinary practice-based research explores ideas around the body and pedagogy. Previous work has been informed by non-conforming and medicalized bodies, exploring reinterpretations of the body through the use of medical imagery, photography, projection, sculpture and sound. S

he is interested in exploring how the act of making can be used to create new forms of knowledge, exploring possibilities in developing an understanding of the body and the stories it can tell.

More recent work has explored the transformative process of light as a creative medium and how light can be used as a way to emphasize lived, corporeal aspects of the body.
