Carl Trenfield

Bio

Following a significant period at Keith Williams Architects in London, working on and running award-winning key public buildings which included theatres, libraries and galleries, Carl Trenfield established Carl Trenfield Architects with a view to creating exciting and thoughtful architecture that offers delight to its end users, regardless of scale, budget or typology.

Drawing on his fine art institution based architectural education, Carl Trenfield’s approach is typically multidisciplinary and narrative driven. This approach is complimented by a solid practical experience and making mentality, forged through close collaboration with joiners and master craftsman over several years.

Carl is registered with the Architects Registration Board as a fully qualified architect and is a chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

In addition to practising Carl is also visiting tutor to stage two undergraduate students at the Canterbury School of Architecture. Carl and the firm see this relationship between teaching and practice as highly beneficial for both student and tutor alike, in terms of broadening wider architectural discourse and research.
